ADA compliant pool lift requirements
As of January 31st 2013 Pool Lift complience required– the Department fo Justice published updated regulations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). These regulations adopted the 2010 standards for accessible design (2010 Standards), which, for the first time, contain specific accessibility requirements for a number of types of recreational facilities,including swimming pools, wading pools, and spas.
- ADA standards cover public entities and private facilitiesincluding pools operated by public park and recreation districts,hotels and motels,fitnessand recreational sports clubs,country clubs, high schools and universities,waterparks,hospitals and health care facilities.
- Prohibits disability discrimination by all public entities at the local and state levels.
